أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللَّهَ دِيْنَكَ وَأَمَانَتَكَ وَخَوَاتِيْمَ عَمَلِكَ

Pronunciation

Astawdi'ullaaha deenaka, wa 'amaanataka, wa khawaateema 'amalika

Meaning

I leave your religion in the care of Allah, as well as your safety, and the last of your deeds. Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) said, The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: when he bid farewell, he grab his hand and did musafaha and said the above mentioned dua.In another narration, Abdullah Ibn Yazid Khatmi (RA) said, The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) bid farewell by saying these words. But in this case, he used plural (kum) instead of singular (ka): “Astad’iullaha diinaakum wa amaanatakum wa khawatima a’maalikum” I leave your religion in the care of Allah, as well as your safety, and the last of your deeds.

Salim narrated that : when he intended to undertake a journey, Ibn `Umar used to say to a person to “Come close to me so that I may bid you farewell as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to bid us farewell.” Then he would say: “I entrust to Allah your religion, and your trusts, and the last of your deeds (Astawdi`ullāha dīnaka wa amānataka wa khawātīma `amalik).” [Sahih (Albani).
